The Raven’s Secret — A Limited-Edition Halloween Jewelry Workshop

In this limited-edition Cabinet of Curiosities Workshop, you’ll create a pair of hauntingly beautiful earrings inspired by the talons of a raven clutching two crystal-clear quartz spheres.
At the heart of each earring is a sculptural four-clawed raven talon cast in copper, created exclusively for this workshop. You’ll transform the raw copper into something that looks as though it might have been discovered inside an old locked cabinet—dark, mysterious, beautifully worn and unmistakably handmade.
You’ll learn to finish and blacken the copper claws to a deep, nearly black patina, then selectively bring the warm copper back through the raised surfaces and edges. The contrast gives each claw an aged, timeworn character while highlighting all of its sculptural detail.
Then comes the magic.
A clear quartz sphere is nestled inside each claw, where the four talons wrap around the orb to hold it securely. You’ll complete your earrings with hand-worked copper wire, jump rings and distinctive handmade copper ear wires.
The finished earrings move between Gothic, Victorian and wonderfully mysterious—like tiny crystal balls carried away by a pair of ravens.
Wear them for Halloween.
Wear them with black.
Or wear them on an ordinary Tuesday and give people something to wonder about.
Each pair will develop its own patina, highlights and character, so no two pairs will ever be exactly alike.
No experience is necessary. Beginners are always welcome.
